Shopping Gateway for Less

Happy 2015 to all! May we go beyond our wildest dreams this year!!

“The people who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world are the ones who actually do.” - Steve Jobs.
This quote has completely consumed me. So, be crazy guys! Do not be 'just satisfied' in your comfortable chair. Do that one thing that you always wanted to do. Dream BIG and work towards it every day. You never know, you might be the next one to change the world.
Ok, enough of my gyaan! Coming back to my first post of 2015.:)

New Year, New Beginnings, New Post, New Backgrounds, New Location, New Outfit Inspiration.

With shopping malls at every nukkad and naka, street shopping has become rare these days. Let’s face it - we love the luxury of shopping in air-conditioned stores. When tired and hungry, we grab a bite at the food court and rest our legs. Plus, parents can leave their kids in the play area and continue with their shopping. I have been experiencing this “luxury” for a long time now until recently when I happily went back to shopping on the streets of Colaba.

I remember, during my college days, I would bunk lectures and strut happily to Linking road and Fashion Street. Those decisions were impromptu and the conversation would be like:
Girl 1 – Ye Sir kitna pakata hai, abhi 1 hour bore hona padega!
Girl 2 – Baithna hai kya ye lecture?
Girl 3 – Naahh bunk!
Girl 1 – Linking chale?
Girl 1 and Girl 2 – YESSSSS!!!
To reinvent these memories, I dared to street shop again! I say “dared” because I hate the push and pull of the crowds on those street markets and I dislike heat and sweat. I must say, the “Mumbai winter” was a total relief. My new mantra – I will street shop only during winters. :P It was a super fun walk on the streets of Colaba, bargain shop, experience the bustle of vehicles and street vendors, and gaze at the fashion sense of foreigners. Plus those old buildings there have such a wonderful charm! The beautiful architecture, colors, and textures create a perfect background for pictures.

Here are few tips and tricks when you street shop:
1) Look out for pants/lowers in elastic.
2) Carry an extra top or tee in your bag to measure the size if you intend to buy tops or dresses.
3) To save time, buy 2 items from the same vendor for a quicker and better bargain.
4) When buying shoes, check the sole. If the sole is weak, it may break in one wear.
5) While buying bags, check if the zips are working fine.

Lastly, you must have a good eye to pick out stuff when street shopping. Select pieces that look good on YOU and, automatically, people think you shopped from a branded store. :P

Happy Shopping :p

What I shopped that day in Colaba. Got all the items for 1300rs. :)
